Glasson Country House Hotel & Golf Club

Located just over an hour from Dublin, Glasson is blessed with a stunning lakeside setting and offers magnificent views out over Lough Ree from every hole on its golf course. With a superb 65-bedroom four-star hotel on-site, Glasson is ideally placed as a stopover for the golfer travelling across the country or for anyone looking for a short break golfing destination close to Dublin.
The course, which was designed by Christy O’Connor Jr, is an exhilarating challenge. Glasson is a parkland course, measuring 7,210 yards and with a par of 73, with holes that will challenge and excite all golfers. The signature hole, the 15th, has both its tee box and green set in the water and is one of the most photographed golf holes in Ireland.
With the first nine holes overlooking Lough Ree and the second nine looking out across Killinure Bay, O’Connor, who persuaded farmer Tom Reid to develop the course, described it as “one of the most scenic pieces of land I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Glasson’s quality was recognised by the Irish Golf Tour Operator Association when it was awarded the prestigious title of 2011 IGTOA Golf Resort of the Year.
