Set across 183 acres of gently rolling Irish countryside, Ballyneety Golf Club stands as one of Limerick’s premier golfing destinations. Blending natural beauty with championship design, the course delivers an experience that is both visually stunning and technically rewarding for golfers of all abilities.
Co-designed by Ryder Cup Vice-Captain Des Smyth and Irish Amateur International Declan Branigan, Ballyneety opened in 1994 and has since grown into a course of national and international acclaim. Built to USGA standards, its sand-based greens and tees ensure excellent year-round playing conditions, allowing the course to maintain its high quality regardless of the season.
The layout makes full use of the landscape, with each hole offering its own unique challenge. One of the most memorable moments comes on the fourth fairway, where a gentle climb reveals panoramic views stretching across Limerick City, County Limerick, and even as far as the Clare Hills. It’s a scene that captures the essence of Irish golf—natural, expansive, and quietly breath-taking.
Ballyneety’s reputation continues to rise, highlighted by its selection as the host venue for the 2027 Junior Ryder Cup. Adding to this prestige, the club was named Great Britain & Ireland Golf Course of the Year for 2025 by The Golf Course Awards, a testament to both its design excellence and outstanding course conditions.
Beyond the fairways, Ballyneety excels in helping golfers improve their game. The club boasts some of the finest practice facilities in the country, making it an ideal destination for both beginners and seasoned players. Golfers can take advantage of a state-of-the-art driving range featuring 15 Trackman bays, 16 outdoor bays, two swing studios, and access to five PGA professionals. Complementing this are dedicated putting and chipping greens, along with a well-designed practice bunker—everything needed to refine every aspect of your game.
Ballyneety Golf Club is more than just a round of golf; it’s a complete golfing experience. With its championship pedigree, exceptional facilities, and stunning surroundings, it continues to set the standard for modern golf in Ireland.
