Los Naranjos GC celebrates its 40th anniversary this year since its foundation.
The game of golf in the province of Malaga dates back to 1928, but it is not until the decade of the 60’s when it was properly introduced in Costa del Sol; it was a period of mass tourism, hotel developments and foundations of the first golf clubs in the province.
With the arrival of aristocrats and celebrities in Marbella in the 70s, the city turned into a fashionable place for British, Scandinavian and German tourists with highly disposable incomes clearly differentiated from the mass tourism in previous years, as a consequence becoming the most luxurious place for tourism on the Costa del Sol that has continued to the present day. Therefore, new golf courses were incorporated into the tourist offer on the Costa del Sol, including Los Naranjos GC which was founded in 1977.
Since its foundation, Los Naranjos GC has maintained a spirit of continuous improvement and the willingness to please all its visitors. Throughout these 40 years, the club has been renovating all the facilities and improving the golf course, but without losing the essence of the original design of Robert Trent Jones, who has been a worldwide reference in the construction and design of the best golf courses. Due to the increasing popularity of Marbella as a golf destination, with its more than 300 days of sunshine throughout the year and combined with the spectacular golf course conditions of Los Naranjos, the number of sold green fees has been increasing year on year.
However, Los Naranjos GC has always known how to adapt and improve its facilities to satisfy the most demanding golfer. Los Naranjos GC always wants to go one step ahead in technology; this year we have invested in the launch of a new website and a mobile application specifically designed to make the customer’s navigation much easier and intuitive, we are also one of few companies who has Tesla electric car chargers in the parking lot and moreover we provide to our customers with a Wi-Fi network around the 18 holes of the golf course facilitating the information and the positioning of the GPS included in all our buggies.
Furthermore, Los Naranjos has developed an efficient and intelligent irrigation system totally independent to the greens. Within our 40th anniversary celebrations, three additional tournaments will be hosted along with themed events to promote the social life of the club, in addition to the celebrations, new shares of Los Naranjos GC will be put up for sale for the expansion and entry of new members to the club.
