The new Waldorf Astoria Marbella, scheduled to open in 2029

Marbella is once again on the world map of luxury with the arrival of Spain’s first Waldorf Astoria Resort, a project driven by Higuerón Developments that will transform the historic Marbella Golf Country Club into an unprecedented ultra-luxury destination. The official presentation took place in New York’s iconic Peacock Alley on December 12, 2025 solidifying the international scope of the launch.

With an investment of €220 million, the future Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort will occupy more than one million square meters and will combine a superior five-star hotel, branded residences, wellness, gastronomy, and exclusive experiences.

A project born from a strategic alliance

The agreement between Hilton and Higuerón Developments was formalized on November 5, 2025, with the participation of Chris Nassetta, President and CEO of Hilton, and Javier Rodríguez, CEO of Higuerón Developments.

For Hilton, this step represents a strengthening of its global luxury portfolio expansion. For Higuerón Developments, it is an opportunity to realize a project aligned with its values: humanism, authenticity, innovation, and sustainability.

A resort to experience luxury in all its forms

The new Waldorf Astoria Marbella, scheduled to open in 2029, will include:

  • 120 rooms and suites with Mediterranean views.
  • 120 branded residences managed by Waldorf Astoria.
  • A 750 m² spa, wellness areas, and indoor and outdoor pools.
  • The iconic Peacock Alley and a signature culinary offering.
  • A completely renovated Country Club.
  • A golf course reimagined by Robert Trent Jones Jr.

In addition to all this an exceptional milestone must be incorporated: three Pritzker Prize-winning architects are involved in the conceptual design, raising the architectural standard of the project and reinforcing its iconic character.

Marbella, a natural setting for international luxury

The city, renowned for its Mediterranean lifestyle, gastronomy, climate, and global standing, becomes the perfect environment for a resort of this calibre.

The arrival of Waldorf Astoria not only boosts premium tourism but also consolidates Marbella as one of the most exclusive destinations in the world.

A further step in the vision of Higuerón Developments

With over 30 years of experience designing premium residential and hotel experiences, Higuerón Developments is launching its most ambitious project to date with this development. A destination that unites architecture, sustainability, well-being, and excellence to create a truly unique lifestyle.

Waldorf Astoria Marbella will be more than just a hotel: it will be an icon of contemporary luxury in Spain.
