Moroccan Golf with a Touch of Hollywood

Moroccan Golf with a Touch of Hollywood

Known as Africa’s Hollywood, it’s not uncommon to see many Hollywood ‘A Listers’ in Morocco.

Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, American Sniper, The Bourne Ultimatum, and the classic Lawrence of Arabia are just a few of the movies that have been filmed on location in Morocco.

However, what may not be so well known is that the Kingdom of Morocco is also home to 40 top golf courses, many created by big-name designers, including Robert Trent Jones Sr, Kyle Phillips, and Tony Jacklin, and all ensuring first-class layouts.

Go Golfing tours to 31 countries- that’s more destinations than any other golf travel company in the world. They have an uncanny knack for combining golf, sightseeing, and cultural experiences and have curated a golf tour to Morocco next February – when the weather is perfect, and the courses are in mint condition.

It’s a 15-day itinerary, playing seven of the top courses. https://www.gogolfing.net.au/golf-tours/morocco-2024

It is easy to see why so many top film directors chose the incredible backdrops of the Moroccan cities, deserts, and even the famous Atlas Mountains to create some movie classics.

Peter McCarthy CEO at Go Golfing said, “Playing golf in the kingdom is also unique. Golfers can experience the game at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, beside the Atlantic coast, or near the cities famous for their history and culture.”

The tour takes in Rabat, Marrakech, Casablanca, Assoufid, and Tazegout and combines seven rounds of stimulating golf, with courses dotted along the Atlantic Coast.

For those who have never experienced Morocco before, it will feel like you are going back in time, especially taking in the ancient traditions in the evening.

Who knows you could even end up meeting Russell Crowe in the clubhouse!
