MONTE REI NORTH COURSE SET FOR A TRANSFORMATIVE UPGRADE

Monte Rei Golf & Country Club, one of the Algarve’s most prestigious resorts, is entering a new chapter. From April to September, its iconic Jack Nicklaus-designed North Course will undergo a comprehensive renovation aimed at elevating playability, sustainability and long-term resilience.

The project is led by Details – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure, the Arrow Global Portugal asset management platform that manages the resort, and reflects a forward-looking vision for premium golf in Portugal. Works will include rebuilt greens, upgraded bunkers, refined landscaping, improved buggy paths and a modernised irrigation system designed to increase water efficiency. Practice facilities and training technology will also be enhanced, while quieter and more sustainable maintenance solutions are introduced.

As Nuno Sepúlveda, co-CEO of Details, explains: “Monte Rei is already one of the best golf courses in Portugal and Europe. This project is about protecting its character and playing quality, while making careful improvements so it can thrive for decades.”

Monte Rei will return stronger—still unmistakably Monte Rei. And at Tee Times Golf Holidays, we look forward to guiding golfers back to this remarkable experience when it reopens.
