There are worse ways to finish a golfing year than in the Algarve.
By late November, much of Europe has surrendered to shorter days and heavier skies. In Quinta do Lago, the light is still soft, the fairways remain inviting and lunch can linger long after the final putt.
From 28 November to 5 December 2026, the Quinta do Lago Golden Tournament offers five rounds across three of the resort’s most celebrated courses (Laranjal, North and South), but the real pleasure lies in what happens around the Golf.
There are mornings beneath the pale Algarve sun, with cork oaks, pines and water shaping the landscape. There is Laranjal, its fairways weaving through a distinctly Mediterranean setting; the North, demanding thought as much as execution; and the South, with the pedigree and atmosphere of a course that has hosted some of the game’s finest players.
Then there is the other side of the day.
An unhurried drink after golf. Dinner at Dano’s. Conversations that continue long after the scorecards have been signed. The easy rhythm of a resort where competitive Golf and the pleasures of travelling well sit comfortably alongside one another.
By the final evening, the tournament moves to Casa do Lago for its gala and prize-giving, a suitably elegant conclusion to a week in which the Golf is only part of the story.
Because this is not really about escaping winter. It is about extending the season.
