Druids Glen -“In terms of vibrancy, rhythm, variety and sheer intrigue there is no Irish course that compares”

Druids Glen featured in Destination Golf Ireland – Top150 – 2025

Editor, Kevin Markham

Druids Glen re-opened in the summer of 2024, following a multi-million renovation by Peter McEvoy and Jeff Lynch (reGolf). The work has reinforced and expanded the Glen’s reputation as Ireland’s most exciting and colourful parkland. In terms of vibrancy, rhythm, variety and sheer intrigue there is no Irish course that compares. This is thrilling golf from start to finish, flowing over mature parkland, and the club possesses the best set of par threes on the island (alongside Tralee), with 8 and 12 tucked away in fairytale settings. It is by no means easy – much of the back nine is laced with water – but you’ll face so many
thrilling shots it won’t matter one bit.

Good luck on the 13th – revered and feared in equal measure, even if the towering lime trees have been removed. And the new 4th, resembling the 11th at Augusta, is a masterpiece, with a new green surrounded by water on three sides.

FAVOURITE HOLE
The par four 13th is one of the best and toughest holes in the country.
From a dramatic, high tee the fairway disappears to the right, around
a cliff-face and beyond a stream. The long approach has to overcome
a lake.
WHAT’S IN THE BAG?
The par threes need your attention to avoid the water while the new
greens have some significant tiers.
