Costa del Sol focuses on the North American market

For the third year running, Costa del Sol Tourism has been focusing its attention on both the US and Canadian markets, capitalizing on the demand from American golfers for golf destinations in Europe outside of the links courses of Scotland and Ireland.

67% of 13 million US core golfers plan to take a golf vacation in the coming 12 months which is 30% higher than pre-pandemic levels. This presents a great opportunity for established golf destinations such as the Costa del Sol with good access to the US eastern seaboard.

To indicate their intent, the Costa del Sol Tourist Board became an Event Sponsor of this year’s North America Golf Tourism Convention (NAC) in Michigan. A record number of American tour operators have attended the 15th NAC event with many interested in developing golf vacation programs to Andalucia and the Costa del Sol in particular.

There is no doubt that Costa del Sol has the potential to double its arrivals from North America over the coming 18 months, from people travelling for the primary purpose of playing golf.
