CASTRO MARIM GOLFE & COUNTRY CLUB
has opted for increasingly responsible paths
Castro Marim occupies an elevated position, with magnificent views to the north, towards the ridge of hills which separates the Algarve from the province of the Alentejo. To the east, mighty Guadiana river forms the border with neighbouring Spain, while the shimmering Atlantic may be seen to the south.
Fantastic 27-hole golf course designed by English golf architect Terry Murray. The courses have wonderful, elevated tees, sloping fairways, undulating greens and several water features and is a challenge for both the novice and the experienced golfer.
The Village Resort is an unique product that consists out os an individual villas with 31 x T2 villages houses and 30 x T3 villages houses. Within this park a secondary Clubhouse with a pool area having a 25 meter long pool, a tropical pool with a bar inside and a children pool and a snack bar. This all within walking distance from the main Clubhouse, which offers additional facilities such as bar, restaurant, gym & sauna.
With global sustainability concerns and new trends that favour destinations and companies that respect the environment, Castro Marim Golfe & Country Club has opted for increasingly responsible paths, namely the use of water from the wastewater treatment plant.
Water for Reuse (ApR), which makes use of the water produced by the Wastewater Treatment has been used by the resort since 2023 and it’s been an added value which has already brought good results, as is already the case at other golf courses in the region and other countries.
This structure provides a new solution for reducing the consumption of surface water, which is becoming increasingly scarce due to climate change.
Not only water efficiency, but also energy efficiency, has been a priority focus in the resort’s management.
Managing the energy captured by the solar panels on the Clubhouse has been a priority for the resort, making it more self-sufficient. The energy produced by the panels is used to charge the buggies and supplement the Clubhouse’s energy needs.
Castro Marim Golfe & Country Club is committed to find the best solutions to be as sustainable as possible.
