VisitPortugal announces upward spiral of Irish visitors

VisitPortugal is delighted to announce a continued upward spiral in their tourism figures from Ireland to Portugal as their numbers grow from Ireland.
A strong performance, and the year is not over yet.
The Portuguese market overall is showing a 10.4% increase January to October, and Ireland is pushing those increases even higher, as January to October figures are showing growth of 11.5% year on year. With tourism the key driver within Portugal’s economy, these figures make good reading.
**OVERALL TOURISM GROWTH TO PORTUGAL JAN-OCT 17 – +11.5% GUESTS AND +8.5% STAYS**
**IRISH GUESTS TRAVELLING TO PORTUGAL JANUARY TO OCTOBER 2017: +11.7% GUESTS AND +10,0% STAYS**
From an Irish perspective, the Irish love affair with Portugal continues to grow year with figures now well ahead of all predictions. Antonio Pereira, Director of Ireland & UK for VisitPortugal 2017 *”we are showing an overall 11.5% increase and for Ireland, we are expecting double digit growth for 2017 from Ireland to Portugal. Our figures to date for October 2017 show an 11.7% increase.”*
