Tarragona, 22 September 2025. – INFINITUM reopens the Hills course with the second round composed of the last 9 holes completely renewed. Led by architect Dave Sampson, the renovation project has completed the first phase of strategic improvements on several holes, a new island-shaped green on the 18th hole and a firm commitment to sustainability and efficiency in maintenance.
The high-end private residential resort located in the heart of the Costa Dorada, is immersed in an ambitious refurbishment process that will consolidate it as one of the best courses in Europe and, in addition to having a spectacular visual impact, aims to optimise the playing experience and improve greenkeeping management. In this sense, in September 2026 it will have renovated its 18 holes with a new high-resistance turf, gaining quality and reducing the consumption of water and phytosanitary products. Improvement works include:
Notable changes on holes 10, 15, 16 and 18. On the10th day, it will go from 120 m to 150 m with a new location of the tees to protect the new car park, while in the hOyos 15 and 16 The sense of the game will be reversed to improve the layout and the experience of the players. For its part, the 18th hole will have a new island-shaped green, protected by water in front and behind, adding a strategic challenge and a spectacular visual impact.
Fewer bunkers, more efficiency. 8 bunkers will be reduced on the 12th hole to facilitate the management of greenkeeping and optimize the playing experience. This transformation of the Hills course not only enhances the playing experience, but also reinforces our commitment to sustainability.
New turf for a more sustainable pitch. The current grass in the fairways will be replaced by Bermuda 419, a more resistant variety adapted to our climate, which will reduce water consumption. Another improvement that will be made is the incorporation of a new species of turf called Zoysia, around each bunker, which requires much less water and chemicals, and considerably more resistant to foot traffic, which represents another step forward in the sustainability policy that INFINITUM is carrying out, following the model successfully implemented in the Lakes course.
During the execution of the second phase of the renovation project of the first 9 holes of the Hills course, which will last from December 2025 to September 2026, they will remain closed and a temporary course composed of Hills and Ruins can be experienced.
With 18 holes and designed by Alfonso Vidaor, Hills opened its doors next to Lakes in 2008. When not hosting tournaments, INFINITUM is a favourite destination among amateur golfers, as it has state-of-the-art practice facilities on its three courses: Lakes, Hills, and Ruins, the latter a nine-hole course also designed by Norman.
