Golf Son Servera – ‘Home of the Pine Trap’

Golf Son Servera – Home of the Pine Trap

DG SPAIN 2024

The second oldest golf course in Mallorca, Son Servera Golf Club was opened in 1967 and was designed by John Harris.
This 18-hole 6,050m (6,616 yards) par-72 parkland course has generous fairways and the rough is kept at a fair length which means the punishment isn’t too severe if you have an errant shot.

That said, it is a challenging golf course and demands accuracy off the tee as most of the fairways are narrow and tree-lined, with water coming into play on six holes. In particular holes 3 to 7, as they weave through Mallorcan Pines to test your skills. In fact, most of the course was like this until a huge storm blew down more than 2000 pine trees, changing it’s shape to it’s current day layout. It also calls for the ability to read greens well as they are full of subtle undulations and are very fast at times.

The opening hole can often decide how the rest of your round is going to go, playing to a blind green. Close to the sea and surrounded by mountains it is tucked away in a peaceful part of the island. After enjoying the signature ‘Pine Trap’ holes and taking in the stunning sea views, the newly renovated clubhouse is the perfect place to end your experience.
