Minthis, the flagship luxury lifestyle resort by renowned Cypriot developer Pafilia, has opened one of the most ground-breaking wellness sanctuaries in the Mediterranean. From beginning of October 2022, Minthis Spa welcomed its first guests into a new world of holistic wellness with an immersive Spa experience which has been inspired by its natural surroundings. The Spa concept blends the restorative power of local herbs and minerals with contemporary science to rejuvenate and restore.
The bespoke Spa building, located in the foothills of the Troodos mountains, is in the heart of the wine producing region of Paphos. As part of a protected Natura 2000 nature reserve, the resorts’ back to nature philosophy seamlessly transitions not only in the design and materials used to create the Spa, but also in the unique facilities and the treatments that have been specially curated for its exclusive environment.
From the resort, the bespoke Spa building is hidden from view, with a green roof that perfectly blends into the dramatic mountain landscape and acts as a cooling feature. Inside, the vast open views of the calming Troodos mountains are framed from every angle prioritising the natural environment and bring the outdoors-in.
The main Spa spaces such as the 25m swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym, fitness studio and hydrotherapy pool all cantilever or hover above the very landscape, which it has been inspired by. The Thermal Suites add to the opulent atmosphere and provide a multisensory experience that features the 5-elements of nature – earth, water, fire, air, and space.
From the Aroma and Finnish Saunas to the Ice fountain and Experience shower, world-class wellness is everywhere ready to restore, rebalance and reconnect you to nature.
The Spa is brought to life by a team of experts and craftsmen from all over the world. Designed by the resort architects Woods Bagot, who specialize in creating life enriching communities, their brief was to help guests rediscover nature and start their own physical and spiritual wellness journey. The world-renowned architecture practice has been instrumental in turning the progressive and idealistic masterplan of Minthis into reality. Commenting on the completed building Woods Bagot CEO, Nik Karalis said “It is not often that our wildest designs are brought to life, often along the construction journey there are sacrifices or cost controls in place, but here at Minthis Spa everything is perfect, exactly as it was designed and intended. A Spa of this caliber requires a specialist team of highly trained therapists and physicians, so the Minthis management team carefully selected and intensely prepared the best therapists with months of training before opening.
