Modern Day Classic Links

|

The West coast of Scotland is famous for its stunning championship links and Dundonald Links sits right up there alongside the very best of them.Opened in 2003, Kyle Phillips designed a modern day classic links which has the feel of a course 100 years older and offers challenges and enjoyment in equal measure. Dundonald Links is located at the very heart of Ayrshire’s golf coast near Open venues Royal Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry, just 10 minutes from Prestwick Airport and half an hour from Glasgow.

The course prides itself on its environmental practices recently winning the Sustainable Golf Course of the Year Award 2015 at the GEO / IAGTO Awards in Lake Como, Italy. In 2014 the course was awarded ‘UK Environmental Golf Course of the Year’ by the STRI and received ‘GEO Certification’ a trusted symbol of great golf environments worldwide.
Dundonald Links has quickly become recognised as one of Europe’s “must play” links courses. Designed by Kyle Phillips, the course has played host to prequalifying for The European Tour and qualifying for the Senior British Open Championship. Dundonald Links plays host to The Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open in 2015 and The Ladies British Open Amateur Championship in 2016.

Visitors are most welcome and with good weekend availability, the course provides the perfect 18 holes to add to your Ayrshire golf itinerary. A 330 metre long practice driving range provides outstanding space for 35 golfers to hit simultaneously off manicured turf grass, ideal for group and corporate days, as well as golf clinics and tuition by PGA Professionals.
The service is set to the standards of its owner, the world renowned Loch Lomond Golf Club, meaning your every requirement will be met with both a smile and a positive response.
The Ayrshire region of Scotland is known for its cultural attractions and historical roots. Ayrshire is steeped in history with links to William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and Robert Burns. The quaint seaside towns of Ayr, Girvan, Irvine, Prestwick and Troon attract many visitors, providing a great selection of restaurants, bars, diners and cafes.
For golf, Ayrshire is home to some of the finest golf courses in Scotland, from testing championship Links courses to scenic Parks courses. Golfers that play at Dundonald Links will be glad to know that other courses in the area include Turnberry, Royal Troon and Prestwick – globally recognised championship courses that could be included into your golf itinerary.
