According to a recent study by golf’s governing body, the R&A, Asia has more golfers than any other continent in this report.

Certainly, many of you may have enjoyed a golf vacation in Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam, the region’s largest three golf destinations.

However, with an enormous appetite for travel since the end of the pandemic, golfers are looking for new countries to add to their golfing bucket lists.

Cambodia, Singapore, and even the Philippines are all regions attracting more and more golfers who like to travel, and SE Asia’s attraction as a golf destination is growing rapidly.

When considering taking a golf vacation, firstly we want to experience the culture, cuisine, and attractions of a particular country.

However, the quality of the golf courses is also important and with the surge in new golf clubs and resorts being built, SE Asia has some of the best 18 holes around, many benefiting from the latest technology on and off the course.

Developers and even governments have realised that golf tourism brings large amounts of overseas cash into the system.

Therefore it is no surprise that top designers such as Faldo, Norman, Nicklaus, and even Luke Donald have all been busy creating fantastic layouts across SE Asia.

There are in fact four SE Asia clubs on the Golf Digest list of the World’s top 100. Number 55 is Singapore’s Sentosa, 65 is Vietnam’s The Bluffs, 92 is Thailand’s Siam Country Club’s Old Course and 99 is Vietnam’s BRG Danang.

Here you can experience everything from misty mountain tracks to urban layouts, even teeing off next to a blue sparkling ocean. The variety is endless!

Players at all levels will also enjoy the novelty of using a female caddie who will make your round relaxing, and enjoyable and hopefully lower your score as well.

And after the golf, there is so much more to do from parasailing to off-road driving, exploring temples, taking a dip by a waterfall, shopping or even taking a relaxing massage. This can be followed by an exotic cocktail before dinner with an unforgettable sunset thrown in for good measure.

Here we provide you with a taste of SE Asia golf and hospitality and remember to also check out our online travel magazine at www.destinationgolf.travel for loads of destination, golf course and resort information.
