“The links at Tralee is home to some of the most exhilarating holes in Ireland”

TRALEE – DG IRELAND TOP150 – 2025

Editor, Kevin Markham

The links at Tralee is home to some of the most exhilarating holes in Ireland, as well as some of the most dazzling scenery.
From the high clubhouse most of the 18 holes are on show and they will take your breath away. Tralee was designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, despite Palmer’s protestations that “surely God designed the back nine.” Certainly the perfect landscape of towering, twisting dunes and deep hollows left little for the designers to do. The run from 12 to 17 is one unbelievable hole after another and the green settings here, and everywhere else,
couldn’t be more enthralling… but putting surfaces are often steep and swaying so don’t be surprised if approach shots slip away.
The links is in the middle of a lengthy upgrade programme which is refining things still further. Work on the front nine included superb enhancements to the par three 7th and magical par four 8th, above Barrow Harbour, while the back nine are now being
improved, too… if that’s possible!
Tralee also boasts a six-hole par three course, excellent practice facilities and a buzzing clubhouse.

FAVOURITE HOLE
The par four 8th loops gently above the waters of Barrow
Harbour, its undulating fairway proving deceptive off the tee… its
approach even more so.
