Race to Costa del Sol launced by LET

The Race to Costa del Sol debuts image and faces a new phase of its exciting future with a new face after the recent renewal of the Ladies European Tour . Its logo includes the new LET brand, a perfect representation of the ambitious joint LPGA and LET project and their shared dream: to drive professional women’s golf.

This year, Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol and the LET have reached an agreement for the Malaga institution to sponsor the merit order of the circuit, which is now called Race to Costa del Sol (Race to the Costa del Sol). This ranking rewards the achievements of the players and recognizes the effort, commitment and determination necessary to achieve long-term goals.

For Tourism and Planning, Costa del Sol is proud to be part of this new stage in the history of the LET. The popularity of professional women’s golf will continue to grow thanks to the dedication and talent of the incredible players on the circuit, and fans around the world will know that we are strongly promoting women’s golf on the Costa del Sol , ” says Francisco Salado, President of Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol.

This year’s Race to Costa del Sol started successfully in February and there were three newly minted winners at the Australian Ladies Classic Bonville, the Women’s New South Wales Open and the Investec Women’s South African Open. The Swedish Julia Engström, champion in the Women’s New South Wales Open, leads the classification followed by the Belgian Manon De Roey and the English Alice Hewson, who won the title in the Investec Women’s South African Open.

The Race to Costa del Sol is essential for the new LET and for the mission that we have set ourselves: to promote the sport for golfers today and for those who will follow them in the future. Our players greatly appreciate the participation of Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol and their efforts to become a champion of women’s golf, and all of them are looking forward to returning to the Costa del Sol in November to finish off the season in a unique tournament, the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España ” , adds Alexandra Armas, executive director of the Ladies European Tour.
