BRIGHTER DAYS AHEAD

The 2nd virtual edition of International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) Links organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions took place in April. The golf tourism event was designed to bring the community together in a time when it’s not physically possible. Golf was, during 2020, one of the first leisure activities to come back and the demand for the industry to bounce back once again was evident during the virtual event with over 5,000 meetings in three-days and some 400 buyers and suppliers engaged in creating new itineraries for group and individual golfers for both at domestic and overseas travel. A positive outlook towards travel trends developed into the need for golf tourism stakeholders to plan business strategies going forward.

Keeping with the “communication is key” theme, our South African Editor John Cockayne heads up a discussion with four panellists on what value communications brings to their efforts to stay connected with their publics, both externally and internally, in terms of their brand and related products and services.

As golf resorts in Ireland prepare for a busy 2021 season, our Irish Editor Kevin Markham reviews some of the best Stay & Play options in the Irish market.

Lastly, our travel writer Andrew Marshall looks at “36 Reasons we all love Golf” and the “Top20 Par-3’s in the British Isles.
