Set to commence in January 2025, this comprehensive renovation aims to enhance and modernize Pete Dye’s masterpiece while preserving its iconic design and breath taking coastal views.
A Legacy of Excellence
Since its debut over 50 years ago, Teeth of the Dog® has reigned as the undisputed #1 course in the Caribbean. Renowned for its dramatic seaside layout featuring Dye’s signature elements – railroad ties, vast waste areas, peninsula greens and tees, hand-sculpted putting surfaces, and unique pot bunkers – the course has captivated golfers worldwide. The seven oceanfront holes, famously described by Dye as “seven holes created by God,” stand as a testament to the course’s unparalleled beauty and challenge.
Comprehensive Restoration Plans
The restoration project, scheduled to begin in January 2025, will include:
- Complete re-grassing with Dynasty Paspalum, an ideal turf for seaside courses
- Installation of state-of-the-art turf on tee boxes, fairways, and greens
- Addition of three inches of sand to fairways for improved playability and irrigation
- Upgrades to bunkers and cart paths
- Overall modernization while maintaining Dye’s original vision
Jerry Pate Design will oversee this ambitious project, ensuring that the course’s legendary status is not only maintained but enhanced.
Alternative Golfing Experiences
While Teeth of the Dog® undergoes its transformation, golf enthusiasts can explore two other exceptional courses at Casa de Campo:
